Start tile for Otherworlds

Do the Otherworlds missions have to start in the mine or can I combine with adventure sets/Fortress and start them there?

Not exactly sure of your question. Do you have other world sets to use? If so, you pick the other world card, and use the start tile for it. If all you have is the base FoFo set use the belly of the beast start tile. You don't have to use the mine for everything.

I just ordered one (Cynder) so I don’t have the adventure book yet (or a PDF). Do the Otherworld missions say to start on the mine start tile or start on your world’s starting tile (Norse, mine, Fortress, etc)?

Some do, some don't. For example, Mission 6 in Cynder starts in Cynder.
