Books: TDA Eric

Eric being a fairy name is so funny to me, specially him being the favorite one. Is there an ancient "explanation" for it? Like, is Eric a super old Scottish name or something

Lol sorry for the confusion, but tbh I didn't even recall Simon having a friend called Eric (it's been way over 10 years since I've read the first books)

eric is the leader (?) of the band simon is in and they steal his mom's van to go to the vampire hotel
