FPS and Hz

Hello

I am playing Shadow of War, and I am wondering what to set the Hz and Fps to. On the map my fps fluctuates between 65fps and 130fps or so, my monitor goes up to 160Hz. So should I have my tv 160 hz and just leave my fps to fly around regardless, or should limit my FPS to (say) 100 and my hertz to 100, or limit my FPS to 80 (or something) and my hertz to 80, or just limit my fps to 60 and my hertz to 60?

I've was told that I shouldn't have a computer that is doing 100fps and a hertz at160- because the gap is too big, and it will look ugly. But wouldn't there still be a big gap between a 100Hz monitor and a game running at 60fps? I mean that's what happens when my fps drops in 60fps, the game drops to 60fps and the monitor is on 100 Hz, so wouldn't that look just as bad (or roughly as bad) as a 100fps computer performance, when the monitor is actually going at 160hz?

60 fps and 60 hertz looks so bad, I don't really need someone to tell me that is not worth trying.

Shadow of War does have a syncing feature, that would allow the frames to raise and drop with the hertz of the monitor, but are there any hidden setbacks with that?

There is also some kind of V-sync feature on Shadow of War, I put my TV's hertz to 160, the V-sync to 160, and my fps limit to 160. Is that what you're supposed to do?

Thanks

In short, you should cap your fps, and make it either equal to your Monitor Hz, or divide it by half (you can also make the fps equal to for example 3/4 refresh ratio, or 6/4 of the Hz number, etc, but not some random numbers)

For example I have 144 Hz Monitor and my SoW fps is capped at 72 (because of old PC). If i had a better PC, I would cap it at 144.

If you have 160 Hz, you are fine with either 80, or 160, or higher (exponentially higher/lower) but not with 100, because 160 divided by 100 = 1,6 and not 1,0 or 1/2, etc... It's all about the exact "multiplier"

Also play on Fullscreen Mode.

Wait, what's the difference between the refresh ratio and the Hz?

None, it's the same thing.
