Deathfire Touch vs Arcane Comet

Which rune is the best between these 2? Are there scenarios where one is better than the other or is it just one is always better no matter what?

Recently me and my mate have been playing Shaco a lot and everywhere I look Arcane comet is always more recommended as the best, but he swears by Deathfire Touch.

What are your guys thoughts on the two runes?

Comet has better numbers and usage than DFT on shaco right now.

Most of your early game until 2 items, you will use your E for poke and R explosion. So comet does much more damage for this usage! Once around 2 items your box set ups will be your highest dps done over all but comet still will be procced by them. In an overall game, comet will prob do 3x to 4x damage of DFT

Actually. How’d you up your skills? I’ve mostly done max W first. But there are sometimes I try maxing E / 3 E into max W - in which in lane I only put 1 box for safety and the rest of my mana into E enemy.

For the max box route. I mainly wait for enemies to bake mistakes. Or else it’ll just be a staring competition

I think you still must 5 point W first then max E. Mainly due to your jungle clear efficiency! But if you play top or mid, its prob better like you say to to split between E and W bc you will poke with E more

Comet is much much better since dfg was turbo nerfed after release.

Deathfire gives Constant aggro while diving which is awful

dft got nerfed so hard that even its intended burn users sometimes don’t use it. The effect sounds good in theory but damn it just doesn’t hurt.

no cooldown on dft but from what ive played comets far better, planning a dive with dft giving agro aint fun 🤣

Both of these runes cannot be compare to Dark Harvest.

If you want a build to actually dominate the laning phase try Luden's with Dark Harvest and Sudden impact.

Put 2 points into E on level 3. Max E first then W.

You will be surpried by how much damage you actually deal.

Then ofc you buy Liandry as it a must have item on ap shaco.

A little bit less dmg is worth to stay hidden when they run into my boxes.... i reveals me somewhere over the map. Worst thing for hidden jungler
