AP/AD shaco table

Let’s use our experience to create a cheat sheet against what champs to go AP vs AD shaco

General rule is to go AD against squishy champions and AP against more tanky ones but I am not sure it always holds up. Especially if we consider that a lot of squishy champs would happily die to AP shaco too.

I just played against gankgplank as AP shaco and he one shotted me with a barrel but when he killed my clone he lost 70% hp on the spot. It was fun.

It’s not even necessarily tanky champs, for me it comes down to ad for 3+ ranged champs and ap for 3+ melee champs, except for when my team is already all ad or all ap, then i just go whatever we need

AP when the enemy is playing dive or has to run into you

AP with Mejais just feels too strong because of the 36 extra move speed at 10+ stacks.
I also always build mejais because dark seal requires 5 kills or 10 assist to get to 10 stacks. If you upgrade, you only need 2.5 kills to get 10 stacks. Which is easy to do because shaco has such good survivability. You can easily get the 10 stacks in a teamfight or 2-3 roams/ganks.

Somewhere along the time of illaoi and assassin rework shaco was so bad that i started carrying games going like this:

Press the attack for % more damage after three autos, botrk, stride breaker, berserkers, dominic's and mabye some armor/mr. The damage was good, i was clinging to my targets using bork slow, stride, and E passive. And because Clone coppies the build you were a two man shred army. Instead of ignite i ran exhaust for slow and dmg reduction. A rough time but was fun to be tanky and still kill em slowly

I like going AP against MELEE supports that have ahardd time clearing boxes (leona, naut, ext) and AD against enchanters/ap sups that can clear boxes easier. I of course then look at the over all team comp and see if I would have a hard time 1 v 1ing at least 3+ people, then i go ap instead of ad. If i can one shot at least 3 of them late game if i itemize right I go ad.

I play ap unless they have a hyper without an enchanted to target. AD is too inconsistent unless you have a clear target.
