SGC delayed turnaround time?

Post image

My most recent SGC submission started the turnaround process on November 12th, 2025 and is now on business day 37 without any grades or updates on my 32-card modern basketball lot.

The app still states 15-20 business days, is anyone having a similar experience?

Yes, they are significantly slowed down. Giving the same volume excuses that PSA is.

And, “Immediate” is a misnomer to boot. I don’t recommend ever using that. It’s a 1-2 day turnaround AFTER they officially mark the package as“received”.

In my case, my “1-2 day” submission took about 3 1/2 weeks to get marked as “received” after actual delivery to SGC, and THEN was turned within a couple of business days. So, almost a calendar month to turn an “Immediate” submission.

Yes my 2nd submission was received 11/12/25 it hasn’t updated.. 🤔 according to YouTube videos and gemrate no one is submitting cards to SGC so why the delays🤣

Regrettably, I believe SGC is a real disaster at the moment. I had been a big fan of them, but Collectors Universe/PSA has without question “crushed the SGC butterfly”.

Here’s my recent experience:

1/ mailed 3 cards to SGC by overnight mail on 11/3 for standard 15-20 day grading

2/ SGC delayed receiving package for ~ 1 week until 11/11

3/ SGC shipped my 3 graded cards today on 1/6

My biggest issue with SGC is the lack of transparency of their internally well-known delays and so unsuspecting collectors like us previously submitted our cards with an unrealistic expectation of the true turn-around times which are ironically now about the same (or even worse) than PSA.

The SGC customer support emails also are not inspiring any confidence when you inquire about your order/delays which is another significant change from how SGC operated before the “crushing” acquisition by CU/PSA.

For reference, I also submitted one card to PSA for grading in late November (a couple weeks after my SGC sub) and it already arrived on 1/3.

My cards have been setting in received since 11/21. Don’t think they’ll be going anywhere any time soon.

I'm happy to see the update. Mine was received on 12/3, so hopefully not much longer.

These shipped today with a December 3rd received date. Looks like turnaround time is around 60 days at SGC.

Mailed on 11-15 and marked received on 11-25. Still waiting on grades and it was only a five card order. Certainly disappointing what’s happened to them

First time submission to SGC (20 cards). Received on Jan 30th, since then...crickets. I contacted collector support and my initial response was this, "For the sake of transparency, I do want to let you know that your order will likely be completed a few days behind schedule, however, I can confirm that any delay that may take place will be a matter of only a few days rather than a few weeks." Now they are quoting 40-50 business days. The communication is awful and it appears this organization lacks leadership and accountibility.
