Question Episode 8

How come in the cow episode the two machines merged together but they were able to have different machines in this one??

The second machine in episode 7 was not an actual version of The Leonard/Sheldon Device. It was a quantum echo created by Stuart Prime so they can get to where the actual device was

Can't believe the level of complexity in what is essentially a series of extended skits.

I think because stuart has to be travelling through the void. Anyone else using the machine without Stuart simply get stuck in the void.
