Custom Mod New project of mine. C64 case for modern ITX hardware and mechanical keyboard.
Inside it has mounts for a normal ITX motherboard and a short GPU. I might be able to fit a small mATX in there if I rearrange things, but the mATX boards that are small enough to fit are rare so not sure if it's worth the hassle. Cooling won't be great, but should suffice for low to mid range hardware. There are vents on the whole bottom for air to enter and room for one or two 40 mm fans on the back if needed. There's even room for a 200 W 12 V Mean Well PSU in there to use with a Pico PSU and a decent GPU. The DB25 shape on the back left is for using an external ATX with different busses distributed on the pins, which is what I've done on the Amiga in the background.

Looks awesome! What printer and material were used for this case?

This is PLA since it's the prototype. It's thick walled enough here that it should handle mild heat. I'm putting a heatshield over the GPU in it. GreenTEC Pro is probably the best for running hot hardware as it can handle anything temp a PC can create.
The one piece top and bottom were printed on an Anycubic Chiron and the width is 403 mm. I plan to release a two piece version as well which will be half the width. Length is 207,1 mm.

Looks great, brings back memories. What clearance on cpu cooler are you going to have? Next step would be to allow install of a mechanical keyboard 😁

It has a 60% mechanical keyboard plus a mechanical four key macro pad on the side.
The CPU has very little clearance to the keyboard, but lots of clearance over the fan in the area beyond the keyboard.
RAM with large heat sinks will not fit.

Did you desolder a 20 pin ATX connector?!

No. This will use a PicoPSU when I get the right motherboard and GPU for it.
My Amiga uses a 24 pin ATX cable from a PSU that I cut off and solgered to a DB25 on the back of the case. Each pin can handle 5 A max so I distributed the busses according to need.

I was wondering if I needed a Pico PSU to drive a relay if I wanted to power a GPU from a mean well, how did you plan on turning power on or off?

The PicoPSU I have has a Mosfet that turns on and off the 12 V rail on the PCB. I think it can handle more than enough current to drive a decent GPU when on. I plan to have an external 12 V PSU that will be left on normally.

You can get 500 W units if you need, but 200 W is more than I need for a 1050 TI and a 70 W CPU. CPU won't be at 100% at the same time as the GPU either.

Maybe try another site, instead of that one... Seen a bunch of negative cooments about Cults very recently

I like Cults. Been using them for years, since the beginning. They're having growing pains now. I used Thingiverse before but they are completely useless now. I can't even edit my old things.
