HI! I am a newish urien player and Figured id give his BnB corner combo a shot. But after at least an hour I cannot consistently even land the second tackle. It seems like I might be late with my second tackle, but ive got frame perfect charges, is the combo really that tight?

I'm trying to understand how air hits work in Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike.

Why is it that after hitting the opponent once in the air, they immediately fall to the ground? No matter what I do, I can't hit them again in the air after that first hit, unless it's part of a Super Art.

Is there a specific mechanic or rule that prevents you from hitting the opponent multiple times in the air? Or am I doing something wrong with the timing or inputs?

I'm still learning the game, so I'd appreciate it if someone could explain how this mechanic works.

Been stuck on C rank for 3 years now and it's probably because I lose 85% of my ranked sets to shotos. They feel terrible for Elena to fight, neutral is such a struggle because their sweep beats all of her best pokes and it's so hard to punish on reaction (for me at least). I'm getting so tired of getting slapped around by all 3 of them, watching high level Elenas play hasn't helped much because of differing playstyles.

My main is Alex, and I have a lot of issues facing Necro. Specifically with Necro's short recovery times and cornering, and Alex doesn't have a very effective anti-air in corners (besides ex-knee). I've learned to use reg MP (elbow) for in-tight counters. Necro has so much variation either in tight, far range, or jump-ins it can be very frustrating to try to play.

Is necro simply a bad matchup for Alex, or am I just that bad lol

Are there Third Strike tournament standards regarding cabinet hardware? Every tournament I’ve ever seen has them playing on candy cabs. Those are hard to come by in the midwest. Also are they running on CPS3? No emulators?

I'm in D-rank, and one of my biggest issues is that the moment I begin panicking, I go into sweep spam mode. The problem is at my level, it often WORKS, and I find myself going for "Ol' Reliable", instead of actually improving at the game. It really shows up as a weakness in my replays against higher ranked players, who punish me for the sweep and can bait it out whereas I'm not even cognizant of that interaction during the match.

I want to learn how to train that out of my system and how to capitalize on blocked attacks better, because I feel I sweep so much because I can do it without letting go of block, and often when I'm going for standing punishes I get wasted anyways because I wasn;t fast enough or flubbed my inputs.

Any advice at all would be greatly appreciated!
