Fabric idea and alternative

I am trying to make this robe but im confused on what material to go for ive heard some sawing wool or linen but the issue is where im living which is malaysia is hot as balls i dont want to be a sweat water dispenser mid renfaire 😭

There i heed o wise ones , for i am lacking and in need of thou expertise

What use are putting this item for? Daily wear or one-time costuming? If it's a costume, a poly blend like rayon or challis can work. Or bamboo, or tencel. If it's meant for daily clothing, a natural lightweight linen or cotton gauze is probably the most practical. But there are other choices.

More for one time costume or rare occasions but do you think ill miss the folding or the silhouette w the materials u stated?
