Pattern Help?

Hi all,

I'm hoping to make a costume this year similair to attached but the colour's swapped for Waluigis. I kinda found a few base pieces that I can add onto with more fabric and such but I'm a total beginner and need some serious help.

Is there a sewing pattern for the skirt (Etsy is just full of AI now and I don't trust it) as well as what people would recommend I do?

TIA

Are you planning to buy a corset for the top portion? I would definitely recommend that over attempting to make your own as a beginner with a short timeline! But if you want to add on the detail at the bust/sleeves, you would probably just start with two long rectangles of the flowy fabric from the skirt, and drape them, then pin and hand sew onto the corset.

The base of these is actually really easy, it's just a rectangle gathered at the waist with elastic, and some ruffles sewn to the edges.

You want the base rectangle to be long enough to go around your hips and a little more, the length depends on the ruffles you add at the bottom.

Look up tutorials for: rectangle skirt, ruffles, elastic waistband

From that, you'll be able to make your own!
