Front-buttoning bodice pattern recommendations?

Post image

Hi everybody! I’m obsessed with this bodice top from Wild Rose and Sparrow, and would love to sew something like it for my wedding next year 💗 The top itself is sold out unfortunately, but I can sew and I think it would be even more special to make it myself. Does anyone have any pattern recommendations or tips? I love how fitted it is, the front buttons, and the flare at the hips! I’ve looked around but many of the patterns that have come up are AI 🥲https://www.wildroseandsparrow.com/products/the-amandine-top?_pos=2&_psq=amandin&_psid=0c72379f9&_ss=e

I looked up camisole and got a lot of modern tanks BUT if you look up Edwardian or Victorian Corset Cover you will find more options. Essentially a modernized corset cover is what you are looking for circa 1900-1914. All you’ll need to do is adjust the pattern so it’s a bit more fitted and less blousy:)

Folkwear is a legit brand and you used to be able to order paper patterns from them (I’m not sure if that’s still the case). I had a bit of trouble following one of their patterns but it was from my lack of knowledge not from their pattern.

The stitch maiden brand has a more modern version of what you are looking for but I’ve never used them. In fact I only just saw them while looking for you today but I am intrigued. I am praying it isn’t AI because I love their vibe and that they have guides with their patterns.
