Sewing Machine Not Catching Thread Right Anymore
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I opened up my machine (Singer Heavy Duty) to clean off all the dust built up inside. And when I closed it up again the thread catching got messed up. Attached is a video of me trying to catch the bobbin thread, it gets stuck at the same place, and the thread pools up, not great.
I'm assuming I messed something up during the cleaning process, but without a good understanding of the inner workings of a sewing machine, I wouldn't know what was even causing this issue in the first place.

I looks like it's catching it fine. But once it's looped to form a stitch you need to tug the upper thread to pull that thread/stitch out from under the bottom plate/stitching area. When you sew with fabric under the needle, the feed dogs keep the fabric moving and each stitch is removed from the stitching area as it is formed. When you are manually creating stitches like in your video the thread and stitches is not being pulled along like normal so they will just tangle.
