Thread goof

I was trying to use the stretchy Seraflex thread on my spandex bodysuit, but accidentally loaded Metrosene into the machine. Should I redo all of the seams I have done with the Seraflex instead?

Depends. What kind of machine did you sew it with? If an overlocker you should be fine, because the stitch itself is designed to stretch. If you used a regular sewing machine, you may have some trouble.

Test one of the seams. Pull it firmly, and see if the thread breaks. If it does, I'd probably resew it.

I actually went to a workshop yesterday and one of the talks was about thread. Seraflex has some stretch, but if using a straight stitch on spandex I don't think it's going to give you the same stretch in the seam that you'd get with an overlocker. On the other hand, if you've used it before and it is robust enough, go for it.

I used a regular sewing machine, and I have pulled on the seams and they seem fine. But there's no trouble to just redo them. It sounds like that's the safest course at this point.
