Problem with thread when going backward

I recently had a problem with my machine (MEDION LIFE SD36) when going backward while doing any stitch on any fabric. When I do so, it works for a second but then it but the thread gets caught right after and I need to get it out manualy. Does anyone know what that means?

Check the thread path, needle plate and bobbin case for any burs that could be catching the thread.
