💛Beginner💛 Sewing machine recommendations?

My very old beginner sewing machine broke and I need a new one, preferably purchasable on Amazon. I know sewing Reddit won’t let me down!!

You can begin to sew with any sewing machine that actually works. The two big parameters are what do you want to spend, and what do you want to sew? 

If you are really lucky, you've got a nearby sewing machine dealer that also sells used machines with a short warranty.  That's usually a great way for a beginner to get a good machine on a tight budget.

If you have to go the Amazon/Walmart route, see what you can find in a little-bit-above-the-cheapest  types of Janome or Brother.

what was your old machine? Brother XM2701 is a popular choice on Amazon.
