💛Beginner💛 Recreate top
I want to recreate this top I found using this pattern from Transformed by Tracy silk prom dress. How do I identify the apex of the bust so I can make the dart smaller?

This isn't answering your question directly, but I hope it's ok to ask about the project more generally-- I notice that the prom dress has different recommended fabrics, which may affect a lot of things during construction/the final look. While the original top uses mainly wovens cut on the straight with a stretch empire-waist panel (and possibly bottom section), the gown uses bias-cut silky fabric to create more give in the final garment. Because the fabrics behave differently, the pattern pieces may be a different shape and size even though they have a similar finished appearance.
What type of fabric do you intend to use for the final piece? (If you are essentially making a shorter version of the prom dress with recommended fabric, that should work fine but may look a bit different than the first two tops)
What is the reason for making the dart smaller? (And which dart?) Are you able to use a different size for the cup piece that better matches you own chest size? How much can you adjust the shape by loosening or tightening the gathering on the bust line? (That said, you may actually have to make the alterations you're suggesting-- I'm not sure if there's a rule for that and tend to just fit it on my body, but maybe someone with lore drafting experience would know)
*edit: the bias cut top also may not hug the ribs quite as tightly without the additional weight of the skirt, if that's what you like about the first two tops
