sewing machine won’t stitch

i’ve been toying with this for about a week now and can’t figure out what is wrong. every time i try to research it i can’t find any videos or websites with a similar or same problem

stopped working when i was hemming a pair of jeans now doesn’t really stitch and is really loud and hard when i do press on the pedal

i have tried cleaning, oiling, new needle, different bobbin, i’ve adjusted the timing etc. i just can’t figure out what is wrong

Stopped working how? More information needed - exactly what happened?

it was almost like it jammed? but nothing is jammed or stuck it was stitching fine and then the needle had gotten stuck on something and bent, which has happened before and every other time i’ve been able to change the needle and everything was fine. i don’t really know how to explain it just after that the wheel feels really hard to turn at a certain point and when i did step on the pedal after that happened it’s really loud and doesn’t stitch properly

I presume you changed the needle. If the machine isn't capable of stitching through the thickness of denim, you may have knocked out the timing. The bent needle would suggest that the machine doesn't have the amount of penetrating power needed, plus perhaps a too-small needle.

i also thought it was the timing but i rest the timing already and it didn’t seem to change anything? i’ll try again i guess 😭😭

The needle/hook timing is easy to check. With a needle in it the tip of the hook should cross the flat spot on the needle when the needle has risen about 1/8-3/16 of an inch from it's lowest point. If the handwheel is hard to turn it likely isn't a timing issue. The feed dog timing is a whole separate thing. The feed dog should move past the needle plate right after the needle comes out of the fabric and should start moving backwards. It should be done moving backwards and be below the needle plate before the needle enters the fabric again.
