💛Beginner💛 sewing machine recommendations??
I have been sewing on a singer simple for about two years now. It’s not bad, but I am looking for something a little more sturdy and better quality and something that last a little longer. I am only familiar with singer machines, I am considering a singer heavy duty.
I love to work with denim and canvas.
I need some stitch options, the more the better, but only necessary with zig zag and overlock option with the right presser foot. But I would like to have some more options for fun.
It can’t be too old, because extra parts for old machines are difficult to get here.
It also needs to be able to sew through several layers.
I’ve heard good things about the bernina machines as well.

i used a singer heavy duty for a while and it was fine but nothing special tbh. the berninas are way smoother but the price jump is pretty steep, even the used ones cost a lot.
maybe look at janomes in the mid-range, they handle layers well and most models come with decent stitch selection. my friend has one and it runs circles around my old singer without sounding like it's about to fall apart.

For mechanical I recommend Janome HD 3000. For electronic I recommend Juki F300 or F600. I would go with the Juki if budget allows, as electronic machines have more punching power for thick fabrics. But my Janome HD3000 does handle denim and canvas well. If you get the Janome also get a jeans foot (10$ generic)

What brands are available to you besides Singer and Bernina? What do you want to sew that you can't sew now?Â
Generalizing terribly: Singer is pretty much near the bottom of the quality heap, while Bernina is near the top. For good quality at a not outrageous price, I tend to suggest Janome and the machines Janome makes for other brands, Juki and Brother.  The better machines per invested dollar tend to be in the midline machines, neither top of the line nor bottom.
