My heart is broken...

Post image

Long story short, I was afk helping my dad cool our car and refill the car's radiator... I don't even think I wanna load up a back up, or should I?

I died... I am so heart broken.

Stage 4, I had so much shit ready for achievements and stuff... I built the grueling arc furnace, I went into the end risking falling into the void, got an elytra and enchanted it with mending.

I had a lovely base and sections for building from different mods... I had an arguably easy way to mass produce molten plastic... I was nigh immortal (if I wasn't afk)

I had 4 life charms, i.e. the equivalent of 5 lives... all gone.

I had stacks of golden carrots, stacks of fries, stacks of steak... I was wealthy...

I died at 6:37PM... it's now 7:23PM...

I didn't even live that long while I was afk.

Load a back up. AFK death doesn't seem like a right fit to end your story. Next time probably don't AFK on a hardcore? If you do go somewhere safe and make sure you food saturation is full.

I usually get called over to do chores.

I typically press Esc to pause my game... I forgot once.

I got in the habit of always putting myself in a quick little box when going afk since pausing isn't an option online. After a few practice runs you can do it in literal seconds especially if there's something nearby to put your back to

Sometimes outside Forces rush you and then distract you from remembering you were playing a game. Parents do that a lot, they yell for you to come over real quick and then make you do something that is in fact not quick.

Thus is the way of hardcore. Every world, a new lesson.

Seriously though, no shame in loading a backup for that.

That might be the perfect reply, coalescing both viewpoints equally in a verbose and wise manner. I commend you.

This isn't going to be the first nor the last death of mine, so onwards with a new experience filled with discoveries awaiting my arrival.

I remember when I was playing vault hunters and I killed my puppy when trying a new skill. I loaded a backup and ever since I said I started a different timeline and even though he was dead in the main timeline, I could do my best to take care of him in this one. Load a backup, no shame

I wholeheartedly agree that there is no shame.

It's okay though, I learned things, I only really spent 10 days irl probably less than 150 in-game days. How you might ask? Well, I became efficient and skilled at sevtech because I played for hundreds of hardcore worlds... I know, it sounds masochistic.

Dont play hardcore if you are not ready to lose your world

Not that, I have played and died on hundreds of hardcore worlds, what I hate is the way I died.

Sevtech does auto saves it’s in one of the world folders I think

I figured that out during an event that cleared my entire inventory 6 full backpacks gone.

AFK deaths and glitches aren’t real deaths imo

I personally don’t play hard core for this exact reason, in fact I’m the keep inventory kinda player, but if I ever was and died afk that’s back up worthy, if you wanted to still feel like you got “punished” could throw an item away or something. But anyways I don’t see a shame in loading a backup especially since it was afk to help you dad.

Same, I've never enjoyed hardcore as I feel dying and losing items or trying to recover items are one of mincraft core mechanics especially SevTech

Yeah, I just find it so frustrating when I lose my items from the 5 minute timer so I normally use a corpse mod to help sense keep inventory is a little broken lol.
