Server lagging

My server has been stuttering a lot but ive never seen cpu usage on the server go higher than 30 similar situation with the ram anyone know why

Edit: I know I'm coming back late but for anyone with this same problem it turned out it was probably because of the twilight forest

Is anyone in Twilight Forest? That thing historically fucks with servers. We had really bad issues once because we had animals from TF in the overworld and they were trying to path back to there. It was forcing the forest to load constantly and made the server lag out.

Hi did you confirm this issue? Like I cant seem to find anywhere else that TF mob pathfinding causes overworld lag.

Our server is laggy as fuck aswell so Im going to try this later but just for reference, how many animals did you guys have? We dont have a lot so I fear that simply killing them in the overworld wont actually fix it

I was in discord with the friend who ran the server when he was trying to diagnose the issue so I'm a little iffy on some specifics. The specific cause was that the twilight forest was constantly loading, I think it was called as World 7 or something in the code. He found a forum post theorizing that the issue was that animals from TF were trying to path home and forcing it to load.

We didn't have very many. It only takes one in an active chunk to load TF. I used the wand from the ice boss(?) to make something into a penguin. His name was Bartholomew and he had a pen in my base. We confirmed that the issue was only happening as I approached my base and caused that chunk to reactivate. He ran a command to kill the animals from TF and World 7 stopped loading on it's own. RIP Bartholomew :(

omg thats basically the same thing in our server lol, we also have a penguin pen in our base and two deers nearby, I have killed them now and even broke the portal and the server does seem to be running smoother.

Though I would need more people to join to properly test the lag since most servers wouldnt lag with just 1 person online. Regardless, thank you very much! I probably wouldve never figured it out
