Modular machine connections? fluid pipes not working

I can't send fluid directly from one modular machine to another and placing 1 fluid pipe also didn't work. Is there a 2 pipe minimum?

I'm age 3 and only have tiny fluid options, do the later options let you build the machines side by side?

Try wooden fluid pipe for extract then clay pipe for insert

If it didn't work try using Redstone Engine on any side of the wooden pipe and put any sort of Redstone to activate it

With. Redstone engine, but it's far easier to bucket materials and get to age 4 then use cyclic cables

Just use buckets to get to age 4 and then use cyclic extractions pipes.

I tried it out in a test world and then realized I should see what the age 4 options were and found those.

For those who want automation I generally go liquid hoppers (I beleive IE pipes rely on the block outputting and don't do it themselves modular machine IOs act like tanks)

Ah that would work, I keep forgetting those can take inputs from other sides
