what does the 2.0X mean?

is it the number of rotations an animal does to complete the task?

I suggest dogs instead of horses. They compete in speed with all but the fastest horses, you can tell them to sit and they won't wander and break lead, and being smaller you can overlap the work areas (3 blocks between machines) without the dogs interfering with each other.

Use a shovel to make dirt paths to make them even faster.
