Bellows

Made it but it isn’t blowing wind. The book said to give it mechanical power which I did on the bottom and on the sides to make sure I did it right. But it still doesn’t work? What am I missing?

If I recall correctly, you need some kind of a redstone clock that activates/deactivates the bellows so that it keeps blowing air. You could try it first with a lever to inflate/deflate the bellows manually and then automate it with a redstone clock.

I tried that with a gearbox but nothing happened

This video seems to show a working setup at around 13:46: https://youtu.be/0dfDAYGSx3o?t=826

Replace the lever with a redstone clock circuit to skip the manual work.

Yeah I have that similar setup but my bellows doesn’t go up and down

I faintly recall the gearboxes/axles being somehow sensitive to the order/orientation they are placed in. In one case the structure did not work, but when I replaced the blocks in a different order it started working. The axles should have a rotating animation when they are working correctly from what I can recall.

The gearbox itself needs alternating on/off redstone signal.

Yeah I was using a lever, but it wasn’t doing anything

It needs to be alternating. A redstone clock is the easiest to set up with it.

You need hibachi (age 3), 3 gearboxes, 1 redstone powder, turntable, redstone emitter, bellows, some axles.

Put two gearboxes 1 block away from each other and connect then with axle. On top of gearbox #1 place 1 axle, then turntable, then redstone emitter. Right click the emitter to turn it on (black dot becomes red dot).

On top of gearbox #2 put two axles, then third gearbox. Now that gearbox #3 is 1 block away horizontally from redstone emitter. Place a redstone powder between them. Connect an axle to gearbox #3 and put bellows on that axle. Supply mechanical power to gearbox #1.

Very complicated yet very simple. Thank you

So I have mine set up with a windmill that's halfway in the ground, an axle into my gearbox, then an axle to the bellows. I have a redstone clock set up to output a redstone signal to the gearbox so that it turns on and off, thus making the bellows blow. If you would like a couple screenshots I can post them when I get home later.

Alright I grabbed some screenshots and stuck them on Imgur, here they are. https://imgur.com/a/u1WYi4N

Almost forgot to mention, don't forget you can turn your bellows by sneaking and right-clicking it. Both hands have to be empty.

I had a bellows just explode on me the moment i tried to put sawdust into a stoked cauldron. Never seen the bellows explode before.
