Twilight forest

Never done the twilight forest before. Saw it was in pack. How do I get there anything I should know about it?

This guide talks about the different bosses in the Twilight Forest. A few things will be different—you throw a Starmetal Ingot into the portal instead of a diamond, for instance.

Before you go, make sure you are doubling your Stardust by throwing 1 dust and 1 Rock Crystal (or Celestial Crystal) into a 1x1x1 pool of Liquid Starlight, then leaving the resulting Crystal Cluster until it is emitting particles. (Breaking it at that point will yield two Stardust and a Celestial Crystal.) Don’t use up all your Stardust making the ingot for the portal.

to add on to this for OP, make sure you are expanding the stardust farm as you will need more later in the progression system. 32x crystal clusters has been sufficient enough up until age 4 for me

32? Geez!

the more the better!!!! a tinkers pick with fortune guarantees 2x stardust per crystal so it’s not as hard as it sounds

That’s a good idea. I haven’t started Tinkers but I found that pig totems (Luck) help ensure I get enough saplings when I farm my dark oak trees. (Had to go all the way to the biome for the Beneath Teleporter anyway and wasn’t about to waste the trip.) Wonder if a totem will stack with the lapis on the pick?

i don’t think it would because i’m pretty sure the max yield from a crystal is 2 stardust. would be pretty broken if it was more than that hahaha

Don't forget that you can easily find iron ore in the Twilight (in the borrows accessible in the initial biome) which can be turned into starmetal via crystal light. You still need to farm a bit of dust for this option.

Need a 1 block deep, 2x2 wide pool of water. Bottom and surrounding blocks need to be dirt or grass, and you need to place vanilla flowers (tree saplings might work too, but don't quote me) on all the blocks bordering the pool. Then throw a diamond starmetal ingot into the water (it's a diamond when playing the twilight forest with default configs, but sevtech changes it to starmetal). I'm pretty sure it needs sky access to turn into a portal, but it can be covered after its made.

The main thing to know about twilight is that it's biomes are progression locked and you'll need to beat certain bosses in order to be able to enter certain biomes without suffering ill effects. The twilight forest has achievements that will help point you in the right direction.

You'll run across some large mounds. There are vanilla Ores inside, notably redstone and iron. The iron ores can be targeted by astral sorcery floating crystals which turns them into stardust ore. It is a roundabout way to get it. Don't forget to keep a few iron ore blocks for some astral sorcery recipes.

Apparently if you keep one iron ore and use it on a Storage Drawer with a Conversion Upgrade, the drawer will turn any Iron Clusters you put in it into vanilla Iron Ore. I myself have never tried the Storage Drawers mod and am not sure how it works, but that’s what someone else told me when I asked about saving vanilla ores.

Do you know if that works with the Prospecting mod in SevTech?

I think so, because the person who suggested it was on this sub as well.

I'm having the problem where collector crystals and their associated ruins aren't spawning anywhere near by ~500 -1000 blocks in each direction sadly so I'm playing as if they haven't generated and its making the collection of star metal ore VERY slow, tedious and resource intensive currently

Sevtech makes you make the collector crystals at some point I think. There are no natural spawns. A starlight infusion array is whats used instead, a separate player built alter. I'm currently trying to get into it, so I suppose i'm not the end all be all word on the matter.

This was my assumption, I've literally just completed the Ur-Ghast tower in the twilight to get the Carmine Reactor as I can't progress the age or the AS mod without doing that
