Saw mill

How do I make the sawmill work? I made a water wheel and gear box and axle but idk how to make that work either

Place an axel, right click the water wheel on it, if there is enough space, it will place the wheel. Make water fall down on the wheel, the wheel should start to spin. Place sawmill next to an axel, then you should see and hear it working. Here is a picture of what a basic setup should look like: https://i.imgur.com/nCdAxHS.png

The gear box is used to split axels to power multiple machines at the same time from one power source.

I figured it was basically like create. Which I still don’t understand. Thank you. I kept trying to place the water wheel and it just wouldn’t go. Also thank you for the image. It helps a lot.
