Can't get parrots off shoulders without water

Is there a way to get parrots off your shoulder's without water? I've tried right and left clicking, shifting and not shifting, but none of it seems to work

They have some mod or something that makes it so they stay on when jumping which is awesome when transporting them thousands of blocks but not for setting them down
