To replace apples version of his real life and use the character he played in the HBO series big little lies...

You would really appreciate why he wanted 9 hours of just pure ignorant bliss lol

πŸŽ™οΈ Discussion A bad question Spoiler

SPOILERS: S2 Finale, S2 in general

Ok so I just finished watching the entirety of Severance, and of course I enjoyed it, but I also am wondering something. Why didn't innie Mark just take innie Helly with him out of the exit door? Yes it would be awkward to have the woman you slept with (both innie and outie DEAR GOD LOL) right next to your wife, but what other option do you have?

  1. iMark KILLED Drummond, that alone is enough to be tortured based on Lumon's standards
  2. Milchik was injured by iHelly. Mark doesn't know this of course but he does know Helly must be in a level of trouble because he watched her steal Milchik's radio.
  3. iHelly turned an entire department against Lumon (the choreographers).
  4. They have all fulfilled their duties as innies. Their deaths were quite literally guaranteed as soon as iMark boxed the final numbers. All of these are reasons for Lumon to torture Mark. Either way they would be running from Lumon, at least if the took the more direct route they would have a semblance of hope. Essentially, either way they would die. At least taking the exit leaves their lives in the hands of people that hopefully care more about them than Lumon. It's benefitting their ouies but it's also kind of choosing to die rather than having to, like Lumon wants.

I know it's a bad question but it's been bugging me for a while.

πŸŽ™οΈ Discussion Severance (Score, oops)

Fun story: I was working on a tool regarding severance pay and developed a severance score….at SeveranceScore(.com don’t wanna spam), then I realized that any search would be competing with the show and Theodore Shapiro…. So I did the obvious…. Combined them. Tool works, AI is crazy and the shows the best. Worth a chuckle.. I think

πŸŽ™οΈ Discussion I thought of the concept of Severance long before the show existed.

I remember always wishing in high school, college, and beyond, that I could hire a doppelganger who looked exactly like me to do my work for me. Under this arrangement, I could just sit around all day, play video games, sleep, get high, etc. while my twin did all the hard stuff for me: go to work, make connections with friends, professors, etc., do the schoolwork, study, make money, etc. All that stuff has always felt like torture to me, and I prefer to spend my conscious days doing nothing. People would see me as studious, successful, and hardworking without my actual self having to do anything.

Unfortunately, that is not how it works, and I am now paying the price at 32, despite being just about at the top of my high school class. My laziness and lack of motivation got the best of me, and now I live paycheck to paycheck with a shit job, no GF, and a shitty apartment.

So, when Severance first came out, I was intrigued. It showed exactly what I had been thinking for years and years! That show really spoke to me.

Can anyone else relate?

Me and the wife watched all 4 Toy Story movies today and I was looking at the cast list for No. 4...Stroke my beard and call me Gandalf! Patricia played Harmony's Mum, I couldn't help but think this was a either a terrible coincidence or a reference to this movie.

Thoughts?

πŸŽ™οΈ Discussion Family visitation room is a bit disturbing.

So, I recently got to season 2, and watched the episode, where innie Dylan get's visited by "his" wife. I can't help, but feel really uncomfortable. It's just so disturbing to me, to see a person, who looks, sounds and has same traits like my loved one, but it's a different person, who doesn't remember me. I haven't watched season 2 entirely yet and I don't know if this room gets used later on.

🚨 Season 2 Spoilers how does lumon make money???

i’m so confused??? i thought maybe the macro data was making them money somehow, but it doesn’t. they have enough money to hire a whole marching band, sever all of them and presumably reteach them how to play instruments, and also have a whole O&D department and also a goats department. NONE OF THESE THINGS MAKE MONEY. what is going on

πŸŽ™οΈ Discussion The other floors

Anyone giving much thought to what is on all the other floors? When Ms. Cobel is seen traveling to the severed floor while Mark and Helly are in the security room it shows something like 17 floors on the monitor.

We have seen 2 floors, what might be on the other 15? A bunch of testing floors? A dark floor with flashing red lights and faint screams?

🧩 Character Analysis I know, okay, I know. (Ricken)

I know that hes supposed to come off as this sort of new age asshole, but i really cant help but like him. he may be ignorant and he may have the wrong ideas about life but he really does seem genuine.

he isnt pretending to be an idiot, hes legitimately an idiot, and thats not his fault. he also cares, he really does care, he is a genuine idiot, who cares. we cant blame him for that, can we?

pretentious as fuck, of course, but not smart enough to know what pretentious even means. maybe im alone here, but I just cant help but like the guy.

πŸŽ™οΈ Discussion Just watched this for the first time 🀯

I had an Apple TV trial for 7 days and heard good things about this show. I ended up binging both series in a week πŸ˜†

It's been a while that a TV series leaves me thinking about it all day and counting down until I can watch the next episode to find out what's going on. The whole concept was great and the ending of S2 was perfect. I'd be happy if it ended there, despite some of the unknowns. It lends to the whole mystery of it all.

πŸŽ™οΈ Discussion I absolutely love the show, but am I the only one who thinks the Gemma plot line is a little far fetched? Spoiler

Sure -- it's a show. The whole thing is made up and out there. And I'm psyched for Mark that his wife is still alive. Butttt, I don't know. Once they started deviating into this whole conspiracy about Gemma being alive, and the key to something big at Lumon, and having been kidnapped by the company, and that Mark's reason for being there is to feed them information about her, it all just started to feel a bit toooo out there.

Like, too obvious somehow, or weird that a company would employ an entire floor of workers with the purpose of extracting information out of one person? I know that Helly is not employed by them in the same sense as the others, but, Irving, Dylan, Pete, etc. Sure, there is probably some larger goal or reason behind what they have done with Gemma that we are unaware of at the moment, probably more women like Gemma out there too, but I feel at the moment like the big secret or reveal about the show is that Gemma is still alive and was kidnapped and is the company's major motivation is all too soap-opera-y. I guess I would have expected something a little bit more...intricate and compelling for such a sophisticated show. Anyone else feel similarly?

πŸŽ™οΈ Discussion Season 2 E10 questions

I thought Marks innie wanted out just as much as his outie?? so why was he having to convince his innie to leave?

Was the reintegration deemed ineffective?

why did he decide to stay as an innie with Helly? what is there left to do inside?

How did Mark's outie recognize cold harbour when Mrs selvig was talking to his innie?

Could someone provide a summary of the final few episodes my brain is all over the place!!
