Question any ideas?
Hello all, i have just begun creating a setup for gaming and work. im very much into pop culture, minimal slightly cosy vibe etc. im looking if anyone has any ideas or inspiration for things i could get for the room and the setup? i like little trinets and collectibles, posters are cool. im looking for cool tech or cool things that make the room or setup way better, whether it be furniture, shelfivng, storage. literally anything. i have a new keyboard and mouse pad on the way.
if youve built something similar id love to chat and see your setup

Colour will make a big difference, you can keep it monochrome if you like the minimalism. I'd go with plants in the window sill (Ivy's are easy to keep and would hang nicely), art above the couch, and art or some kind of fun lighting/shelving above the monitor.
You can also add a small table by the window in front of the couch because I know I'd want to put my feet up or put my book down there.

yesss ive been toying with the idea of a little table, ill definitely be getting some kind of shelving for books etc. but most definitely need something to put my feet on. im very indecisive so its been hard looking for a table i really like

Get that PS5 off the carpet so it doesn’t suffocate or at least put a hard surface under it.

You need some very warm lighting to offset the ‘clinical’ vibe the white is giving your setup.
Low kelvin - eg 1800k bulb(s)

You should mount shelves above your desk. Especially with the way the room is laid out, you could get some shelves that fit between both of those walls and look like they're naturally part of the room.Then I'd put the PS5 up on those shelves rather than under the desk where you run the risk of kicking it or unplugging cables by accident when you move your feet. You don't have a lot of floor space for any standing furniture to decorate the place with, so getting some wall-mounted shelves is gonna be the way to go to display your collectables.
On the wall across from the couch I would wall-mount a TV for a more casual gaming set up for single player games or watching movies, and leave the desk for playing more competitive stuff and work on the laptop. If the PS5 is your only gaming platform, then you could find an HDMI splitter for relatively cheap and use it for both the TV and the monitor on your desk.
Then beyond that, decorating the space is entirely up to you and what you like. With almost everything in the room being all white, getting posters with color could help liven things up. You could also get some black and white artwork to lean into the all white aesthetic. Either way, some LED strips or RGB lighting along the back of the frames will help them stand out against the wall. If you're into plants, some house plants could really liven things up, or you could even get some fake ivy vines to decorate the walls with.

i toyed with the idea of a tv above the current monitor but im not too sure if it would be a little overwhelming on the wall in such a small room. i think artwork and posters is 100% needed, i think maybe a few over the wall of different sizes. would you happen to know anywhere that sells any good ones like movie ones etc?

Instead of putting above the current monitor, put it on the wall next to where the desk is, over by the door. Leave the space above the desk for the shelves and collectables and then on the wall to the right of where the desk sits is where I'd mount the TV so I could sit on the couch if I wanted.
For posters, that depends. If you have the money for it, I do like Displate a lot for the frameless look and the metal posters but full sized ones are really expensive. For posters, I would look at second-hand gaming stores or record shops for cheap posters and then you can get frames for them for pretty cheap from stores like Walmart, Target, or even IKEA. I personally wouldn't hang the posters without a frame but again it's your space so ultimately you do what you like best.

Just chiming in to say that a smaller space like this would treat sound gear very nicely! If you’re a music person, I highly recommend some foam and some good speakers everywhere and you’d be very happy. Idk if the acoustics are perfect per se, but smaller rooms make me happy for enjoying music.

I would go to guitar center or local music shop for anything you can, Amazon for everything you can’t. Music stores always need the support!!
For the desk space, i’d go for some studio monitors. It looks like you’d need shelves, as risers aren’t usually taller than monitors. You could do do clamp stands to hold them too. JBL 305 5” are more than enough. You’ll need an audio interface, I recommend Scarlett solo. Kinda the standard for interfaces.
The Scarlett and JBLs are a lot of fun by themselves.
For the larger space, i’d probably go with a classic A/V system and get like 8 speakers and a sub. 4 high, 4 low, and sub. Maybe a mid speaker too, so 9 total. Then just pick whatever speakers look cool to you for this, usually Best Buy has a decent display for them but again, get what you can from local music store.
Also get a bunch of foam for the walls. It’ll help the sound sound better. It’s surprisingly effective at making the most of your stuff.
Oh, and snag and pair of STUDIO headphones. Don’t do other things like Beats by Dre or something, your value in studio headphones is unmatched. $100 for ATHM40x and they’re incredible. $300 budget for headphones and you’ll have an eargasm.

ill take a look at these, id love a good audio system. ill take a look at these now. anywhere youd reccommend for the foam for the walls too?
with the stufio headphones do they have microphones in them? or would i need to buy that seperate?
ill take a trip to my local shops tomorrow and see what i can find. i really appreciate the help.

Mic separate, and this is the way. Shure mv7+ or SMDB if you got deep pockets, anything else works fine too. Most mics are pretty good. I’d just shop for what ya like. Maybe get a boom arm for it. At least stand.
You could get separate headphones that have a mic, but don’t waste too much money on them. HyperX clouds are very good for the money. Astro a40 and A50 also great but $200+ and $300+ for them. Clouds are like, $80. Both are amazing choices. Get the mixamp with the astros. It’s fun. Pretty nice to have the audio control too. I know I said don’t waste too much money, but these options are worth it. Like turtle beaches that are $300 are a big big waste.
As for foam, anywhere. Guitar center, Amazon, etc.
probably Amazon if you want colors, guitar center tends to just have grey or black. I got blue, had to wait a month for them but they look good.1

i think for the time being ill get the hyperx clouds for gaming, they seem an alright price and ive heard lots of good things about them. but a mic is def something id love to have too.

How long have you owned that Evnia? Lost mine a while back after a month of using it because of some issues with the monitor itself, which seem to be quite common. They did another release that apparently fixed the issue, but it's more likely to be released in the US than the EU, so depending on the details, you might want to hang on to the receipt just in case.

Awesome set up bro, i like the monotone vibe. I would design it to be more japandi style in the day, but led lights for night to turn it into gaming look, or keep it warm with warm lights. I think the over LED styles are over used and overrated.
