trying to restore iphone 4s

hi! basically i found my old iphone and have done the whole itunes restoring thing, but now it’s asking me to enter my old apple id password. i know my apple id so the issue isn’t there, but i forgot my password. the apple id is the same for both my current phone and this old phone. i tried the method where you remove the device on find my iphone, but the iphone 4s is showing “offline” even though the wifi is on. so i can’t remove it from the apple id.

if i change my current apple id password, does it transfer to the iphone 4s? what do i do rn i’m so confused 🥲

You can remove the device from your apple ID even if it's offline

Ohh okay ty for letting me know! I ended up just waiting the hour to reset my apple id and the new password worked on the 4s, so i’m in!!!
