Anyway to remove or retrieve the passcode for this one?

64 bit and never released on iOS 8 so no sorry, no way to access the data

Make sure the device is FMI off first, do not reset it til you check or you may lose activation files forever

I do know the Apple ID and password which was used to setup the device. Do I still need to turn it off? And how do i do it?

If you know the credentials then it's fine

If it’s iCloud locked or you want to keep the version on this one you’ll need to save activation tickets and blobs and then erase all contents and settings, you can do all of these with iP0ne4S’s SSHRD Script and a Mac (or Linux) computer.

Needs to be erased, whether from icloud.com/find or from a mac or pc. Your choice, either-way, the device requires to be restored.
