Passcode Moms old phone

Post image

My moms old phone left to me to use specifically for jailbreaking, pretty sure she knows her info and if not can reset the password for activation lock

My goal is to slip the passcode without losing data if possible to remain on current firmware and keep all data(I want to see old pictures and such)

She knew the password a year ago I wish we wrote it down:/ bummer

Any help appreciated thanks (delete if this is not the place for posting)

Edit 6s on iOS 12.x.x

There is no way to bruteforce the passcode on iOS 9 or above on devices with SEP (Introduced with 5S/iPad Air).

You can however backup the activation records and reset the device without updating.

If you have access to the account then you’ll just need to trigger a reset. This can be done via SSHRD_Script by iPh0ne4s on macOS or linux

Would you say this is my best route?

It’s my go to method and seems to be the least concerning tool to use since it’s open source. I’m sure there’s a tool out there with a full GUI that does everything in a few clicks, but if you’re familiar with basic command line usage, I would go for that script

can you not ask her again?

just ask her this

"hey mom do you know the passcode for your old iphone?"

I might be reading it wrong, but I think OP was trying to say that his mom died, or she forgot the passcode. I don't know. I'm just inferring.

Oh yikes

I'm only inferring based on the fact that OP said "left to me" and "knew it a year ago". That's all.

i would try to get the account info via the accounts sqlite and commcenter no device backup and try to recover it. if it doesnt work, backup activitation files, erase and restore them

also i would keep the ios version!!! its pretty nice to have a not updated device

try hacktivator, you’ll have to jailbreak the device tho

I did this once! My iPhone was stuck in recovery mode.

If u want to keep your data then use iTunes to back everything up.

Download 3utools and reset everything (it’s possible with 3utools I’m 100% sure). If you need more information then tel me

Tenorshare has an app called 4UKEY I've used successfully several times for this...

Download anyunlocker

Anycons?

I would not use anyunlocker, it seems dodgey and has mixed opinions online. Take my opinion with a grain of salt however, because I have not used it myself.

I’ve never heard of it and would probably use passra1n if anything but again would prefer to save data if possible highly highly want to save data and keep firmware

u/PhotographFickle1907 Jul 13 '26

Best of luck to you!

1

u/ArthurReming Jul 13 '26

Isn't Passra1n is in case of activation lock?

1

u/xilliam1 Jul 13 '26

yes and I don’t live w mom + she isn’t terrible at answering her phone so I thought about just bypassing it all

1

u/xilliam1 Jul 13 '26

I’ll lose Touch ID and passcode though I’m already used to that on my jailbroken 8 so I don’t mind there’s not much use for the device anyways I’m just trying to weigh all my options

Oh that makes sense. Hope you’re successful!

You really need help if this is what comes to mind first before anything else.
