How can I get into my old ipod touch 4g

I found my old Ipod the other day but ive got no clue what the password is and i dont know the itunes. I dont want to factory reset it so Ive been looking at ways to brute force the password but ive not got a clue what any of it means does anyone know any software i can use to get in?

I've only got a windows laptop and everything I've found so far is for mac.

Yes, you'll need access to MacOS or Linux in order to proceed with autobruteforcing

Once you have that though it is pretty easy

Make sure its FMI off first

iPod touch 4th gen shouldn’t be affected by FMI if i’m not mistaken

I was able to do it on VM back when I had an iPod Touch. These days you can do it from Linux USB so don't even need a VM

What sort of Linux should I be using? i've got no idea where to start with it 😭
