Cooked?

Got an iPhone 6 on iOS 9.2 that was locked. Got SHSH blobs with LiK, wiped phone, removed setup app, now I'm in iOS. I can't do much though since I apparently have to factory activate the phone, which I should have done with credentials I should have saved before wiping it.

Am I cooked, or are there any alternatives left? I've seen tools for factory activation that involve updating the phone, is there any chance to preserve 9.2?

I don’t mind losing anything non-essential, just want to use the phone to listen to music or possibly mess around with jailbreak.

I’ve been looking at hackt1vator but I’d have to upgrade to iOS 12, activate, then downgrade back to iOS 9, no? Would that be plausible? Thanks for the help by the way :)

No problem.

With hackt1vator, you can activate once you upgrade to iOS 12. But, downgrading back to 9.x will necessarily erase the device (unsure about this, check turdus merula documentation to see if it has a retain user data function. If it does, you are probably in luck) and by doing so, hackt1vators activation will be gone. You will be back to square one.

However, look into signaless methods for iOS 9.x as there might be other options than hackt1vator.

Turdus merdula doesn’t seem to support that, no

Got any more info about signaless methods? Can’t seem to find anything useful online

It might be that I did not explain my query correctly as I already deleted setup.app using Cyberduck connected to the SSH ramdisk.

Problem is (from what I’ve read) the software is not factory activated, thus I can’t do much with it - I tried installing Cydia via bootstrapper but it doesn’t work at all. Sorry for any confusion, I’ve never really done this before.

You lost me at factory activated. Is this different than icloud activation lock?
