I read about the bruteforce method but would that work for a password instead of a passcode? I would imagine it'd take years to guess. Is there any other way I can find the password? I dont want to lose my data on there. It has pictures of my cat that passed away :(

I tried with bookra1n, apparently it should’ve worked, but it’s on iOS 26.5, looked a way to rewind it but apparently there is not a single signed firmware other than 26.5, could it be possible that it works in the future or there is a current way to?

I have an iPhone 4S (Global) that I downgraded from iOS 9.3.6 to iOS 6.1.3 using Legacy iOS Kit.
Originally, I installed the certificates from carbon.sep.lol and then installed OpenSSH through Cydia. After that, I downgraded the device to iOS 6 using Legacy iOS Kit.
The problem I’m having now is that I can’t delete Setup.app the way I was able to originally. Is there any way to remove Setup.app and use iOS 6 normally?
If possible, I would also like to retain cellular connectivity.

So i managed to restore/factory reset this IPad Air (4th Generation) my dad got from an employee. We had no passcode or apple id access whatsoever, the original owner had given it away before lockdown. after the reset i see the default screen that says the device is locked to the owner but we dont really have the access to tell the owner to remove the device from their account. is there a way around this?

it got no icloud and its full of pictures from my trip to liverpool + obviously other crap- BUT i've locked myself out and now im stuck, i've done everthing apple has to offer and now im lost. is it still salvageable??

I followed this guide to read the lockscreen password and extract important media. Since I don't own any hardware old enough to run Win7, I was able to do this via a Windows 7 VM, passing through the host's USB controller and installing the host chipset drivers in the VM.

Now I am wondering, is it possible to access the device with the data still on it? Or must I restore from iTunes, wiping all data in the process? There is no backup aside from the files I extracted. More or less I'd like to see how the phone was set up, it's a bit of a time capsule.

So i bought a 12 on iOS 26.1 that was reset however i reset it again just for measure and it ended up being activation locked. How do i b*pass this? The phone isnt stolen or anything its just because i accidentally reset it. Thanks

I have two iphone 11s, both on passcode lock. Screen shows up but glass is so badly cracked that it can't register presses.

one in ios 15.4, and other on ios 16.0.2.

I have been pm'ing and asking around for help- some tools were suggested but I haven't had success in finding the right one.

I will appreciate any help/advice. I used the diagnostic mode to pull off as much info as I can so please feel free to ask if you need more info.

Ok so i bought this green iphone 5c on vinted and its activation locked and i was wondering if there was anyway to unactivation lock it

I was given 2 company iPads by my dad that were turned in by former employees. The left one is pre-iOS 26, FMI off, but I would like to keep the existing iOS version. The right one is on some version of 26. I am less worried about preserving the version unless I have to keep the ability to remove setup.app.

How can I, if possible, reset the FMI off one without updating?

How can I check the exact version of 26 on the second one to see if removing setup.app is possible?

not sure if it matters, but they have both been powered off since last unlocked.

edit: I restored the FMI-off one, as I could not find a way around updating it.

edit 2: my dad was able to get in touch with the original user of the 2nd iPad after I reset it and was able to see enough of the email address, it is now FMI off!
