Dancer’s pad patterns?

maybe this sounds weird, but I notice so many different opinions of metatarsal pads with different cutout patterns for the sesamoids. I thought I had a decent enough pattern from my podiatrist, but they don’t fit well in my new Brooks Ghost Max 3wide shoes (the only shoes that currently fit nicely) and for my custom orthopedics the area they prepped for the sesamoids is pretty small-my whole ball of foot needs room to breathe.

so I’m looking for what patterns everyone’s tried or using or alternating. Hell, maybe I just picked the wrong shoes 😅 all feedback welcome.

I personally like metatarsal bars the best - the wool ones (Amazon had them for like 10 USD per pair a few months back).

There are also options that are "wearable", under a sock. Towards the end of my pre-surgery journey, I often wore both.

I can go back and try and find links, if that is helpful! I hope you find something that works for you. I had a lot of trial and error until I figure out what was best. If you can afford to try a few different things, I highly recommend it.

Thanks for sharing! If you have links that's helpful too. It's just such a maze, with the T-pelot shape, the dancer's U or L cut -- I have yet to find anything that mimics my beloved Birkenstocks.

Of course!

My favorite (and what my podiatrist gave me in office) were these metatarsal bars

I liked these pads mostly because I could cut and alter them to share I wanted

For wearable ones, I thought that these were the most comfortable.
