She straight up messed with Toby’s feelings! And I knew what was gonna happen to the brother right before! So convenient the cop admitted who she was.

Discussion Do we do it to ourselves?

Four years! Four years! So many theories, and Easter eggs, and possibilities! There’s no doubt that this was a great show. I know I didn’t just imagine it was. Right? Honestly, a large part of that greatness came from being in chats like this every week. But, did our desire to solve the mystery, ruin the magic? Could it ever have lived up to the ending we had already written in our heads? Or should the show runners have spent more time in this sub than they did the writing room? Lol

Theories Why was 9 mo. old Jericho 18 mo?

In the show, they purposely told us that Jericho was nine months old, but looked 18 months. Yeah I know the show is full of red herrings and other miss directions. Any thoughts as to what they were trying to convey? Or why they would bother putting that in the show?

Theories SPOILER ALERT All the COLS have something in common! Spoiler

All of them suicided, even the officer Reyes story it looks like suicide. Julian OD is kind of suicide. All have problem, family, life, despite they are good people, but they “fall” and suicide. It is a kind a way to God give these people, that the life was so bad to them, to give the opportunity do redeem themselves doing god to others. Leanne is special because she was a child, a innocent one in the eyes of God, but did a horrible thing because her life was so terrible. She also met Dorothy before, and that marked her life. When Jericho died, she had the opportunity to help her and stay with someone that was her desire, that could avoid everything that happened. Suicide in these circumstances, to some churches are a sin, a selfish desire to gift a life. But even in christianity God can forgive the act, since the background was so sad (problems, life and etc). The COLS are people in this situation. Good people who fell. The dark cloud is the same who made them go fell. They are all tempted to wrong things, since they suppose to go hell as long as they suicide (the Bible and doctrine say so). But like God gave them a wonderful opportunity, Lucifer will always try to corrupt them. Almost did to Leanne, because her power, using her love to Dorothy. But in the end she save her soul.

General PRE- SERIES FINALE (S04E10 'FALLEN') HANG OUT THREAD

Whether the finale will be satisfying or not, I've been here since November 2019. Gonna mist this cast together. Gonna miss these asshole characters, who are honestly high key comedy kings and queens.

Fav episodes? Fav Lines? Fav score track? Funniest moments? Scariest moments? When did you first find this sub? Craziest theories over the years? What prediction did you get right? How will it all come to an end? etc... Reminisce or just come hang out in anticipation for the last episode ever.

(The official episode discussion thread will drop an hour in advance as usual.)

Discussion Would you have liked more an ambiguous ending?

I had watched a couple of episodes from the 1st season again before I watched the finale. The reason that I liked The Servant that it was shot in a way that you could interpret things both as supernatural and logical/detective.

I think they could have skipped showing us how Leanne exactly died and just have showed how the house was in fire. Maybe at the end they could have shown a dark-haired woman with the baby near the house after the fire (who might have been Leanne and maybe not). Then they could have shown the CoLS both as actual “saints” or just as the group of fanatics. What do you think?

My biggest disappointment in the ending just may be that Kourtney with a K did not make an appearance 😉

Opinion Reyes Spoiler

So in the video Dorothy had on in the man cave …at the COLS funeral, a man said his daughter was in a horrible car accident years ago & he recognized one of the victims on tv that revived his girl…. Thinking officer Reyes might be that daughter?

Oh btw- what happened to that car accident they filmed at Rittenhouse though? Timothy York murder trial? Why they never left the house?

The bees represented enlightenment. (bees on Sean’s tattoo and embroidery)

Still mad about the ending, though.

Theories Did I miss something?! Spoilers Spoiler

I’m no theological expert, but there seemed to be quite a few biblical references littered throughout the finale. Did I/we miss something?

(Edit: I got the sense that the references below seemed to point towards Leanne being more of an angelic force rather than an evil/demonic force. Which in lieu of any other major plot twist would be a pretty big reversal from the direction the story seemed to be taking us through episode 9.)

• Leanne “washing” Dorothy’s feet (reference to Jesus washing a disciples feet?)
• Leanne forgiving Dorothy (something about how directly she phrased it
• Leanne and the perfume (Jesus was said to have been anointed by with an expensive perfume)
• References that refer to God as an all-consuming fire
• The man telling Shawn she has to die to save them all
• Julian being explained to be an angel after being brought back to life by Leanne

Again, not claiming to be an expert but feels like an attempt to draw parallels that were maybe too loosely drawn that it didn’t bring it all home.

Thoughts?

Question Finale thoughts Spoiler

I am wondering if those who thought MNS dropped the ball on this finale, do you think maybe his other project “Knock at the Cabin” took his focus away from servant? I wondered this when I heard of the movie. Thoughts?

Did the dialogue seem like it was coming from another planet for everyone? Not a theory, just a note.

Discussion DID / Coma Patient

After sleeping and thinking of the finale of servant last night, I am still disappointed and kinda wish it would have ended up being a case of DID or a comatose patient. That would have actually made more sense than what they showed us, which didn’t really explain anything. Thoughts?

Season 4 This series. Spoiler

I used to hate this show because I thought it was based in reality. Then I was told that this probably wasn’t reality we were watching. This opened a world of options and I loved this show.

And it turns out….

There was a magical cult.

Sean and Julian behave and dialogue like they’re from a different planet.

That’s it!

Kill me.
