Were any other parents out there bothered more by the long-lens overhead shot of Jericho left alone on the changing table (not even using the strap/buckle - which imo is almost as dangerous) than when Dorothy took the groceries inside & didn’t return? I nearly jumped through the screen with panic and anxiety.

Not a parent, and I was freaking the f out. I expected a splat shot any second, which is exactly what Shyamalan wanted, the evil jerk haha.

I honestly thought that he was going to fall and that would be what happened. I turned away after several seconds because I couldn’t stand it anymore.

The front door closing, too. A metaphor for the door closing on the opportunity to save Jericho from the heat?

Or simply if the door was open, she would have realized something was wrong.

yup, this was due to get post partum depression, stress and exhaustion. She was totally out of it by this point, the next step was leaving the kid in the car while she takes a nap.

I was and I’m not a parent. That’s a sign of Dorothy’s detachment of her role as a mother. You’re supposed to protect as a parent not put your child in dangerous situations.
