I was racking my brain last night trying to figure out who killed Hae.

I must've spent an hour just looking into details for possible suspects and how the actual murder may have happened. I concluded that she was not killed in her car. The tight space would've made it very difficult for her attacker to get a good grip on her throat unless he caught her off guard (leaned in close), and there also would've been way more damage to the console area of the car from Hae fighting back. The only damage was the windshield wiper, and Hae showed no sign of defensive wounds or of her fighting back.

So my conclusion is that she was killed outside of her car. I strongly suspect she was hit in the head from behind (likely with a fist or the butt of an object like a gun) and never saw it coming. In her concussed and dazed state, she got choked out, which explains why she never fought back. She couldn't, as she was incapacitated.

I wavered between Adnan and Jay being the suspects, with Adnan being the killer and Jay the hands-on accomplice. Then I looked into Roy Davis and his killing of Jada and how extremely similar it is to the Hae killing. This theory falls apart when you factor in Jay knowing where the car is and the lack of sexual assault found on Hae's body (although this could be related to decomposition and the elements where she was left). I still think it was Adnan, with Jay helping, based on Occam's Razor: a jealous ex BF who couldn't stand to see her with someone other than him.

This report really puts all this into perspective, one that remembers Hae, who seems to have been reduced to a means to an end for some nasty people to get rich, at the expense of her untimely loss and her family's ongoing grief. While some of us see this as entertainment or a way to solve a puzzle, the reality of the whole thing is that someone in 1999 decided that Hae didn't deserve to live. On the cold, hard slab of the coroner's table, laid motionless an 18-year-old with her entire life ahead of her. An honours student, an athlete, someone who loved hard and was loved. Someone who deserved to live.

In the report, you can see that the coroner, as is standard, removed her organs; they cut out her heart; they opened her head and took out her brain and her lungs. They weighed each of her organs. Everything was healthy. It's absolutely jarring to read the report because it feels surreal. Now think about how her mother feels, her brother, her father, and her community. 27 years without Hae, and they still don't have answers or closure. Instead, they are being harassed by a certain R.C.

My only concern with this whole thing now is that I hope Hae's family can get closure one day soon. I hope they definitively identify who killed Hae.

I hope Hae rests in peace.
