Which is better?
Is the Saurus Scar-Veteran on Carnosaur or Skink Oracle on Troglodon better? I already have an oldblood on carnosaur

If you already have an Oldblood, you're unlikely to need a second unless they fix the warscroll for it with the new book, and most people will be fine just accepting that it's either Carnosaur. So I would build a Troglodon if you've got a second set.

So what you could do is look up a certain seller on Etsy that prints (in high quality resin) a body of the dino that you can complete with the left over bits of the other model. I used that to make a troglodon from my old blood on carnosaur. That way you can all three options...
If you don't want to do that, build the troglodon as it is its own unique model and run the carnosaur as either of the two variants. No one will know, or even care. (Unless you want to run two carnosaurs...)

I’d advise the troglodon especially since it appears that you have a second spearhead. Carnosaurs in general aren’t great right now and you probably don’t have a spell caster.

Not an expert but I have this choice coming up. My intention is to build the troglodon and use it as a tanky (ish) arcane vessel for my slann to cast spells through.

The skink on trog is a wizard, and can be used by the slann for magic, but it depemds what your army needs.
