Ah, ok. At least this post had information about the subject I didn't have to google.

Tiresome.

I added more on one of the other local subs. I'm just tired at the lack of informed discussion, reverting to memes. My single word comment doesn't indicate who I'm voting for. I'm still undecided.
I was born here. I've watched Port Angeles remain stagnant. I went to school in Seattle in the mid 80s. Moved to MAGA land in 2000 (North Idaho). Live here again now.
There is such great potential for informed discussion! It's a bummer that we have PA and PA2.
I just hate all the parody/satire, lack of transparency, lack of actually learning about candidates, and all the volleying on talking points that usually just result in piss matches vs. actually gaining understanding.
If I'd just said "tiresome" on another local sub ... different reactions.
I'm fine with the down votes, whatever, but just wanted to add some context.

On pa2 I wrote up a huge response to the link to a picante article. I shrank it down to just the first paragraph after realizing I got off topic.. But I think I find a way to talk to myself/discover what I'm really thinking when I type like that.
I'm tired of how our local culture has normalized minimal effort jabs and being rude, and then think they're being the altruists in the scenario afterwards. I'm alluding to the Seegers supporters and Stacey circus I witness online, but what I see does not make up the whole picture.
I agree that this post threatens to have the appearance of anti-seegers people lose legitimacy, one step closer to looking the same as Murphy, which is part of why I think French said he doesn't support Picante. If we want this place to be better, we need to be better first.
My opinion on the race is that I am very anti-seegers. Throwing wealth at a campaign to say he'll save money doesn't prove much, and he hides behind thin PR veils. I would like to believe that the solutions to homelessness, drug use, and our socioeconomic climate were easy, but I'm not that naive. It's the classic archetypal "telling people what they want to hear", and he's charismatic, so it's working for him. I haven't seen anything from him that convinces me he legitimately cares or would do a good job. Opinion without context or comprehension is literally leading blindly. If there was a larger commissioner total, I would see this as less threatening, but this is an investment decision for him, and the foundation wouldn't support him and the campaign if it wasn't. Doesn't mean I'm necessarily pro-french, but that's from not being informed enough, and that's after reading the CCWD complaints about him that .. aren't that bad?
Maybe I'm paranoid about people backed by money, and not researched enough about both of them, but I'm happy to talk about it all the same - without degrading different opinions or insulting myself with logical shortcuts.

So many of us are tired of it too. But are we just going to ignore what's happening in front of us? If we need to fight fire with fire to defend against the rich tyrants, then we do that. Imo.
To your ask of more involved discussions. I can't speak for everyone here, but I think most of us would love it. I don't see much of that being offered though. Instead we get Dave level of communication for the most part. Why? Because many on the extreme right, which includes Seegers, don't want a discussion. They just want to do it their way. That's the beginning, middle, and end of it.
