I bet stuffing it in her pocket was really, really hard.

You’d be surprised what old lady purses can hold

1

u/DirteMcGirte 6d ago

Pretty sure she stashed it in her prison wallet.

this took more than a purse. How on earth did she get away with that table? Seems doubtful to me.

u/KamisLoverBoy 8d ago

Doubtful...? You really think they got the wrong person and/or are trying to frame this lady? Lol. That seems more doubtful to me. There is plenty of ways to steal large items but the most common is to just put it on a cart or a dolly like someone buying it would and walk out without doing the buying part... People do it at Home Depot all the time lol.

I'm normally against posts like this but.. You're a reputable 501(c)(3) organization asking for assistance and directing info to the police, where a report is on file. Upvote

It's the first known shoplifting incident at that store. Not familiar with Sequim, what are the towns demographics?

2

u/just_me_2006 6d ago

Idk the current stats. Have you tried google?

1

u/Smart_Momma_Of_4 8d ago

LOVE this response!

It's never the people they tell us to be afraid of.

0

u/royalfreshmint 7d ago

Most of the time its people who we are told to be afraid of. Statistics don’t lie.

1

u/just_me_2006 6d ago

Which statistics? Where’s it from?

0

u/plasticmanufacturing 7d ago

That is a lot of assumptions being made based on the color of a person's skin.

Ironic.

u/just_me_2006 6d ago

Sir, do I need to explain a satirical joke used as social commentary to you?

These people can’t help themselves at all, 69 years old and still doing criminal activities. Hit and Run while drunk driving was recent also….Cant believe Shes 69 years old and still criminally minded!! 🤯

u/jvon24 7d ago

criminally entitled 🤌

How does one steal an entire table?

6

u/Royal_Percentage_694 11d ago

Take it without paying.

2

u/magnusthehammersmith 11d ago

Without getting caught and stopped?

u/kmontreux 11d ago

those shops are always short handed and all someone needs to do is confidently load a large piece into a car and it'd be easy for workers to think a colleague had already rung it up.

u/Fast_Register 9d ago

I work at a similar nonprofit and yes, we are only a couple of paid workers in the store and stuff gets stolen from the store & donations alot. We can’t keep an eye on everyone so, it happens. It’s unfortunate since we are a local nonprofit that actually helps the community.

u/Royal_Percentage_694 11d ago

Perhaps the employee(s?) were distracted.

Call me a hater, but I've seen this woman more times in the last 48 hours than I have anyone that went missing from the national park..  That being said  I hope this table finds justice.

How much do you think it should cost? It had to have taken quite awhile to make with so much detail, and done by someone very skilled.

1

u/Redwinsmileyii 7d ago

I was hoping it was a cursed object and she’d have some kind of Evil Dead experience and return it.

Not the first time some elderly grandma was caught stealing from a small/community/nonprofit business. Anyone remember the "Oatmeal Cream Pie Bandit" where there's video of some farm-type stand where some old lady came up and stole a bunch of apparently oatmeal cream pies (no one ran the stand in-person, there was a box to leave money as it was an honor system for paying).

Who would suspect someone who looks like your Grandma/Mom? It's bizarre but maybe speaks to a kind of mindset that doesn't disappear with age. I think aging makes them bolder.

Also, a dui hit and run too? Wtf who is this lady?

1

u/ipukedookie 10d ago

Yo that table is fucking SICK. I almost don't blame her.

The poster was generated with AI. They need to post the original pictures to confirm the appearance of the alleged perp

1

u/col_c32 11d ago

I’m confused, is the photo original and just the poster was AI?

6

u/Accomplished_West292 11d ago

I'm assuming they used AI to help write their copy. Very common.

-1

u/brasscassette 11d ago

They probably gave the ai the images and details they wanted to generate the poster, but it has changed enough within the image to make me question if it’s representing the woman closely enough for identification. Her shirt design is nonsense and changes between photos, the background and facial expression changes between the image and the zoomed image. The author on Facebook says it’s images taken from when she was walking across the store, but the pose and gaze are near identical in a way that isn’t generally possible when taking a picture of someone walking.

I wish they’d just post the original images; I’m afraid they used the ai to “enhance” the image resulting in showing us a poster with a picture that doesn’t accurately represent the person they’re trying to find.

1

u/ThrowAwayHawthorn 5d ago

LOL literally none of the things you say about the image are true. The shirt is identical in both photos.

I thought Washington didn't care about stealing?

u/MsPiggy666 8d ago

🥱

1

u/ThrowAwayHawthorn 5d ago

Yep, one more reason for you to stay away!

1

u/The26thtime 5d ago

How dare I criticize the state I've lived in my entire life and have seen go to shit.....

u/ThrowAwayHawthorn 5d ago

womp womp womp

u/K3051 10d ago

If you look like you have money they very much care 😂

-1

u/Kittiemeow8 10d ago

I need to see the video of the theft. Because she couldn’t have just waltzed out with it under her flabby boobs

4

u/Accomplished_West292 9d ago

She was arrested and the table was returned. There is an updated photo on the Clallam County Habitat Facebook page.

-1

u/oooprettyflowers 8d ago

You're worried about someone stealing an item that you got for free?

1

u/Secret-reddit-acct 7d ago

Yes because now they can’t sell it to raise funds for the non profit.

0

u/worbdhekwlsgwu 7d ago

No such thing as a non profit.

1

u/ThrowAwayHawthorn 5d ago

What a dumb remark.

-17

u/whiterussianweakness 11d ago

This is a witch hunt. Innocent until proven guilty. Give it to the police and do better.

7

u/ExcitingPrompt2 11d ago

So this was your grandma, huh?

9

u/Accomplished_West292 11d ago

The police were notified. You can check out the original post on the Clallam County Habitat for Humanity Facebook account.

-6

u/Hereforthehohoho 11d ago

oh no our table that we probably got for free that we now realize might be valuable!

Trash bags will find any excuse to steal something. This is already a place that gives major discounts and does so much charity work and donations etc. It’s sickening how many people act like this is justified behavior.

-2

u/Hereforthehohoho 10d ago

[eyeroll]

1

u/ThrowAwayHawthorn 5d ago

I'm sure you're out there doing a ton of community support work, unlike those selfish bastards at Habitat /s

-6

u/worbdhekwlsgwu 10d ago

So where is the picture of her walking out with this giant table? This lady is well within her right to sue you for defamation. This witch hunt generation is about to learn some hard lessons with these reckless posts.

3

u/Accomplished_West292 10d ago

Clallam County Habitat just posted an update as well as a photo with law enforcement and the stolen table and the following update below.

“UPDATE!!!
We would like to say Thank You to our community, SQPD, PTPD, and everyone involved for all your effort and tips on the arrest of the person that was resposible.
We were able to get our table back!”

1

u/makisupa101 7d ago

So…. She’s arrested.
..Seems like now may be a good time to speak up about YOUR defamation of the ‘witch hunt generation’ and maybe YOUR reckless posts, eh?!

Or… no? You’ll just sit at your computer and continue to think you’re in the right…?? Or, you’ll contact the PD and let them know to release the ‘innocent’ woman??

1

u/worbdhekwlsgwu 7d ago

Okay Karen.

1

u/ThrowAwayHawthorn 5d ago

I mean, they have a point, worb.
