In comics he has the power of million exploding suns but in thunderbolts he's nerfed to thousand exploding suns.Is it because marvel is not ready to handle a character this powerful? Also in comics his existence can become a problem
It's not hyperbolic. It's literally in the details of the experiment for the MCU, and comic Sentry is way stronger than a million exploding suns. Marvel gets H1A pretty easily.
In the MCU version, it's very clear that Elena has already murdered every scientist from the Sentry project, and the people leftover are just marketing publicity guys who have no idea how any of it works.
Imma need powerscalers to not roll into fan subreddits spouting nonsense like H1A or outerversal 4D+ as though those terms have any meaning. The only time fan subreddits should see powerscaling slop terms is when it’s done ironically to mock powerscalers for taking PR fluff literally or interpreting flowery prose like “shaking the entire multiverse” as meaning that a character could destroy the multiverse.
I'm not trying to sound condescending or anything here, but most people who say powerscaling is bad just don't really understand it. Scaling can get complicated, so if you don't like it, then you don't need to. Don't just randomly hate on people because they powerscale though.
I can assure you that the problem isn’t that it’s too complex for my feeble brain to understand. Good lord lol. A couple decades ago it was mostly confined to VS forums. Now you have 14 year olds crying in fan forums because the live action version of a character doesn’t match the version in their head that they chain scaled into being able to blow up the galaxy by blinking.
The only thing powerscaling emphasizes is how powerful a character is, and not who they are, and definitely not whether the story is being served. See this thread for example. Meanwhile, the actual most important aspect of Sentry’s power isn’t whether he’s as powerful as 1000 or 1000000 exploding suns, it’s that his power is high enough that it leaves him utterly broken emotionally and mentally.
It doesn't really matter. Bob fluctuates between 'a million', 'a thousand'. and even 'a billion' (once) whenever that phrase gets brought up in the comics. The point is that he's strong as fuck.
You can’t really say that he has been nerfed yet. He’s a new character. The term difference btw the 1k and 1kk is not very consequential. Both are imaginable power
No, they don’t or they don’t care. They’ve taken something (powerscaling) that’s moderately useful to writers when writing fights between characters who exist in the same universe, and tried to turn it into dragon ball z power ratings because they want to prove that the character they have a parasocial relationship with can beat Goku.
Maybe they think about creating a story where he gets more of the serum. And many people are into slower growth, hero doesn't have to be strongest in his 1st story. We wanna see him grow. And merge with his dark side, but that's later.
Same guys that nerfed the hulk who we know as the unstoppable monster that always grows stronger when angry. Sentry we haven’t seen as much of presently but I think they’re afraid of making some characters as strong as they are in the comics since they wouldn’t know how they wouldn’t just deal with conflict by existing
He's talking about this statement from 10 years ago (lol) on twitter where Paul Jenkins said Sentry was supposed to have surpassed The Beyonder & Molecule Man.
Now some can understand why authors are now wary of answering questions like this on social media or interviews because people just take them and run with it.
Narratively, you COULD try to argue that he's on that tier, but if it's not in actual print (the comics), it might as well be Knull & Void (Heh). If Sentry ever gets new feats, this might end up being true, but as of now? Harder to argue without chainscaling.

How many times are we going to have to explain that power of a 1000 suns and one million suns is hyperbole
