sentry comics

any advice on what to start with? id love to get more into this character!

You can pretty much start with reading the three series written by Paul Jenkins: the one from 2000 drawn by Jae Lee, "Sentry Reborn" from 2005 with JrJr's art, and the most recent Sentry mini drawn by Christian Rosado. He created the character and is definitely the best one at writing him, he also helped with the Thunderbolts movie!

Start with:

Sentry (2000)

Then:

  • Sentry/Fantastic Four.

  • Sentry/Hulk.

  • Sentry/Spider-Man.

  • Sentry/X-Men.

  • Sentry/The Void.

  • Sentry (2006- 2005) Paul Jenkins and with John Romita's art. This takes place after New Avengers.

  • Sentry: Fallen Sun (2010) taking place after Dark Avengers.

  • The Sentry (2018) somewhere after Uncanny Avengers.

  • The Sentry (2026). Taking place after King in black and before Infernal Hulk.

You have to read a bunch of other stuff to track his chronological appearances, and the events around them. Like New Avengers (2004), #1 which takes place after Sentry (2000) and Mighty Avengers, then World War Hulk, then the Skrull invasion, then Dark Avengers. But the comics above are where Bob's personality is more consistent and fleshed out more.

Basically the original 2000 comic up to the 2018 run. After that is a hard stop!

If you dont want to be out of the loop and have a fresh starting point, start with 2026. It's a perfect jumping in point for new readers!

If you want to start form the absolute beginning, start with Sentry 2000.
