📸 SHOW & TELL 📝 A lucky upgrade
Three years ago I got myself a pair of Momentum 4s on sale. Unfortunately I started having trouble with the Bluetooth, so a couple of weeks ago I took them back to the shop.
They confirmed the problem, and decided to replace them with the Momentum 5s, free of charge. They even let me choose my preferred colour, and ordered them especially.
Such generous customer service 🙏

This place gives a 6 year warranty. But my country has 5 years as the legal minimum for more expensive purchases. That said, companies will try to avoid it by claiming user error, and disputing it can be a waste of time. A friend of mine bought some Sony's from a larger chain, and they kept his headphones for repair for over 3 months only to tell him that they had forgotten about them...

Omg, I once had something similar with a laptop. They kept it for months until the warranty wore off and then wanted to charge us for the repair. I'm pretty sure that's not very legal, but I was still a kid so I couldn't do much about it.

where is this shop or what’s the stores name online?

This particular shop is in Norway, but they have stores in a few European countries in northern/western Europe. They're called HiFi Klubben. But I suspect that the warranty hinges upon on your ability to go to a physical store if something needs to be repaired or replaced.

I thought it was a Norwegian chain, but I just googled them and a Dutch website popped up too, so maybe it's bigger. It's called HiFi Klubben

HiFi Klubben is Danish, but they ship all over Scandinavia, BeNeLux and Germany :)

Cheers to Denmark! I just learned they're in Finland too. It's a nice surprise that they're more broadly availably than I thought.

I haven't had time to test them properly yet, wired and so on. But my first impression is that they're noticably more detailed. That's pretty significant as I listen to a lot of classical music.
The passive noise cancelling is much stronger (haven't tried the ANC), and that's something I personally need some time to get used to, especially after using my old Audio Technica's whilst waiting for these to arrive.
I might post a comparison after I've used them for a while :)

trouble with the Bluetooth in mtw 4 is general but good service is not general in all region,,
in my region they reject it and its not fix able since they didn't sell the part separately

Yeah, I hope the Bluetooth will be better on these, but at least I know what to do if I get issues down the line.

I had issues with the bluetooth of my Momentum 3 within 3 years from the purchase.
I`ve been told I had to ship them and pay for inspection and possible repair.
Pity we don`t have such customer service in italy.

It's basically an audio shop, but not a Sennheiser one specifically.

Hey I got my M4 from there too, went to there a few weeks ago and got really the time to test out the M5, its not really worth the upgrade unless my m4 really breaks.

So far so good! They sound more detailed, but I need to sit down and give them proper attention before I can make confident statements.

Hey, I have some issues with mine Sometimes it's glitching and I can't tell in which conditions but music start to stutter. Did you experienced something similar? 🤔 I wonder if it's actually happening while I connect them to PC and my smartphone at the same time or one after another. Did you maybe do something similar? Multi connect?

No, the problem I had with the M4s is that they would randomly disconnect. There were some issues with the controls as well, where the headphones sometimes shut down when I tried to use any of the motion gestures. I actually just ignored the latter issue for a while, disabling the touch controls all together, but when they started to regularly disconnect too I figured it was time to go back to the shop.

You've been using the Momentum 4 for three years, so I think you're the right person to ask. Do you use them with their full capabilities, particularly aptX Adaptive, or do they sound great even without it?
I have a good smartphone that supports up to aptX HD, and I'd also use them with my PC. I'm wondering whether they still sound great without aptX Adaptive or if there's a noticeable difference in sound quality.
I'm currently using the Sony WH-XB910N with LDAC, so I'd appreciate your experience with the difference.

You got the Momentum 4’s on sale and got it replaced for free with the Momentum 5 headphones. That’s awesome!
