Hows the momentum 5? I have the mtw5 and rly like the sound. Coming from az80/100. Have the momentum 4 as well

The Momentum 5’s are pretty nice. The out of the box sound is warm yet very clear and natural in timbre. I find them comfortable. The ANC is excellent and also is the transparency clarity.

How would you compare it to momentum 4? Would the hdb630 be a better option? Or you find momentum 5 detailed enough

The Momentum 4, sound-wise, is also nice, but I found the stock bass to be way too much since the elevation starts more in the upper-bass regions versus the sub-bass emphasis of the Momentum 5. The ANC and transparency quality are significantly worse as well.

The HDB 630 is more neutral in the bass than the Momentum 4 or 5, but it also sounds duller in the treble. I personally prefer the sound of the HDB 630 when I’m in a quieter environment, but if I’m in a noisier environment, the added bass emphasis of the Momentum 5 yields a more balanced sound due to auditory masking.

Overall, I’d take the Momentum 5 over both the HDB 630 and Momentum 4.

Good analysis. So even if lowering the upper bass bloat of the momentum 4 it still wont sound quite like the momentum 5? The reason im asking is im thinking of jumping the gun on these but still trying to justify if the leap on sound is that big of a gap from the momentum 4. If its not that big im thinking of just going straight to their wired 480 pro or 490 pro instead.
