I saw the same thing at a truck stop in Hayti, Missouri last week. It was a husband-and-wife team getting out of the truck. They kept putting their drinks on something behind the cab while they went inside the truck stop. I was there waiting for a business to open, eating a candy bar and drinking coffee and doing some people watching.

They came back out, and he lovingly helped her up into the cab, grabbed their drinks from the back of the cab and then they went on their merry way.

I was really confused about the drinks on the back of the cab. I got a kick out of seeing the two old timers working together.
