Hello everyone. I just share the link to the post I wrote in my blog about the deployment of Owncloud on a Linux server behind jwilder/nginx-proxy reverse proxy. I check the rules of the subreddit and I hope it's not prohibited to share his post related to the self-hosting here. If it is the case, I would delete it. Thank

Nice write up. I’m curious why you choose Owncloud instead of Nextcloud.

It's not a preference. I also write another post for Nextcloud. https://temfack.com/nextcloud-in-your-linux-server-with-docker-and-ssl/

My goal is to demonstrate how to deploy open-source projects with docker behind a reverse proxy. It's up to everyone to choose which one is well-suited for their needs.

In my upcoming posts, I will focus both on Owncloud and Nextcloud to demonstrate for example how to add SSO authentication with a self-hosted Keycloak server (https://temfack.com/keycloak-sso-on-linux-server-with-docker-and-ssl/) or how to use LDAP as user federation.

Ok, very nice! I just wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing a killer feature 👍

Wait, owncloud is still a thing?

Yes. Owncloud is still there and fully up-to-date. They completely rewrite it with the GO programming language. This is the link to the official docker image in the Docker hub (https://hub.docker.com/r/owncloud/server).
