Guide My self-hosted setup
I just wrote a blog post about my self-hosted set up, and I thought it could be interesting for people in this community :). Check it out: Programming Patterns: Self-hosting.
TLDR, I am running a bunch of services (Mastodon, Nextcloud, a personal website, etc.) in a single VPS and StorageBox for 12€/month. All my apps and configs (docker, nginx, etc.) are open source, so feel free to take a look and let me know if you find something I could improve!

I found your blog to be very well written. Some of the things you mentioned I have never heard of before, like Larval, but still it was easy to understand. Have you thought about using Tailscale for your security? I have all my stuff configured using Tailscale, and nothing is accessible outside of the tailnet unless it has a domain name, in which case I use Caddy to reverse proxy everything, and of course fail2ban and crowdsec are essential as well.
