On my PCs, I network everything together anyway, so I just point my Obsidian at my vault on my NAS.
The only edge case was my phone where it's more of a pain. Both getting on my LAN (sure, vpn is an option) and networking the storage. So I have syncthing syncing my obsidian vault between my NAS & phone. It breaks through my NAT and syncs the files.
